Accounting Manager

Job Overview
Development, implementation and/or maintenance of one or more accounting systems. Responsible for journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis in accordance with GAAP, IFRS and DT policies and procedures. Plan and design business processes and make recommendations and changes in order to improve and support business systems and activities. Understand the transactional flow through the various systems to monitor and ensure accurate financial results. Solid understanding of ERP system including sub-modules.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes superior accounting, system and business knowledge to act as a SME for Accounting area of responsibility. Ensure accounting records, monthly accounting close activities, and variance analyses are adequately and properly prepared, maintained and explained in a timely manner. Ability to mine for, manipulate and manage large volumes of transactional level data. Possesses deep understanding of business drivers and their effect on financial results and provides direction and guidance as to how they are to be reflected on financial statements and analysis. Performs second and/or final level review of the work of others on the team. Provides constructive feedback, guidance and coaching while maintaining positive relationships. Use broad knowledge of accounting concepts, wide-ranging experience, superior analytical skills and knowledge of industry to review issues and develop standards.
  • Facilitates analysis and discussion of financial data. Analyzes and documents gaps and differences and provides recommendations as to how to address.
  • Demonstrates solid understanding of processes and systems. Documents and approves test plans, also responsible for performing regression testing around all new functionality that impacts financial systems. Trains team members on new functionality and new processes to ensure financial close timelines are met.
  • Provides mentoring and direction to Accountants and Sr Accountants. Leads department improvement initiatives.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Finance ()
  • 7-10 years Accounting work experience. Required

    Base Pay Range: $82,600 - $149,000

    Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

    The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

    At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
