Job Overview
The Field Training Manager develops, coaches, mentors, guides and certifies new hires and existing sales professionals toward sustained sales success. They build relationships with T-Mobile executive leaders and managers and have the ability to influence these positions when difficult decisions are needed. Field Training Managers are the standard of excellence in facilitation, local market support and performance gap analysis and impact measured business results. They serve as primary skill and knowledge builders during national rollout of key selling skills, systems, tools, resources and go to market initiatives. They work closely with sales leadership to determine if a new hire is capable of being successful at T-Mobile based on new hire certification efforts. Field Training Managers serve as the subject matter expert on design and creation of training deliverables. Successful execution results in improvements in our key business metrics: Growth, Revenue, Customer Experience, and Operational Excellence – with key emphasis on Accelerated Growth toward sales productivity of our new hires.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates National Training Programs (Takeover Days, Go-To-Market, Un-Carrier moves) for frontline sellers
  • Facilitates New Hire training programs for newly hired TFB sellers and leaders
  • Supports Days 90-120 recent new hires who have completed New Hire program
  • Identifies performance gaps of sales teams, uncover the root cause, and create and implement a training solution that shows measured business impact
  • Conducts regular local market visits with to observe and coach to selling behaviors and tool usage
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills to help nurture customer relationships and work with field leaders to provide training recommendations and solutions to knowledge and skill gaps
  • Conducts project and program management for local training initiatives
  • Attends essential meetings designed to steer alignment to increase training performance
  • Impacts sales performance with training recommendations that drive metrics of focus
  • Observes, mentors and guides other Trainer, Sales roles during Train-the-Trainer activities and other facilitation efforts
  • Provides reporting, insights, and recommendations on initiatives and programs
  • Serves as lead SME for HQ project teams to collect and/or apply feedback on new/ongoing projects.
  • Attends train-the-trainers as needed for Frontline Readiness new initiatives, trainings and rollouts
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree 3-5 years of equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree. (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma/GED (Required)

  • Work Experience:
  • 4-7 years Successful sales experience (Required)
  • 2-4 years Professional training experience (Preferred)
  • 2-4 years Wireless experience (Preferred)

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Stretch Assignments Ability to complete a Stretch Assignment that has lasting impact on Frontline Readiness and Delivery teams. This would translate to a project that changes our approach, strategy, and execution of our trainings and initiatives. Candidate would be responsible for uncovering and planning of stretch assignment, with guidance from management. (Preferred)
  • Project Management Working knowledge of project/program management. (Required)
  • Training Facilitation Ability to facilitate learning to a diverse audience with a variety of leadership and learning styles. Ability to coach to facilitation consistency with other training roles. (Required)
  • Performance Metrics Ability to read, analyze and discuss possible action plans based on business performance metrics. (Required)
  • Executive Communications Has multiple seats at leadership tables and can influence Sr. Leaders when making recommendations. (Required)
  • Training Delivery Experienced in contributing Train-the-Trainer activities and digesting material quickly for facilitation nationally. (Required)
  • Building High Performance Sales Teams Robust understanding and application of MEDDPICC, negotiations, business/financial acumen and 7 Leader Disciplines. (Preferred)
  • Telecommunications Deep knowledge of the telecom sales industry including cold calling, prospecting and proposing to vertical industries. Keen understanding of all sales segments. Have demonstrated ability to master complex solution selling themselves, as well as educate other sellers on how to sell into the complex technology space. (Required)

Base Pay Range: $67,400 - $121,600

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
