Position summary

T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Developers, Database located in Frisco, TX will serve as the technical resources for the department.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive the technology stack for the department, including BI and visualization tools, Data Warehouse solutions, analytical and modeling software.

  • Develop ETL pipelines in and out of data warehouse using combination of Python and Snowflake’s SnowSQL.

  • Design and develop data movements using Snowflake capabilities like Snow SQL, Tasks, Streams, Time travel, Data sharing and stored procedures.

  • Use Big Data technologies such as Kafka, Snowflake and related technologies to store, curate, process and publish datasets for consumption by downstream business users and applications.

  • Integrate on-premises infrastructure with public cloud (AWS, AZURE) infrastructure.

  • Participate in the development, improvement, and maintenance of database applications.

  • Work with IT partners and user community for project definition, work on multiple platforms and multiple projects concurrently.

  • Perform independent technical analysis, debugging and troubleshooting, as well as code and unit testing for complex scope modules and projects.

  • Perform multidisciplinary work supporting data pipelines, data warehouses and reporting services.

  • Actively test and clearly document implementations so others can easily understand the requirements, implementation, and test conditions.

  • Manage database security, including account administration, password policy, data encryption, network encryption, and firewall rules.

  • Translate requirements for BI and Reporting to Database design and reporting design.

  • Understand data pipelines and modern ways of automating data pipeline using cloud based and onpremises technologies.

  • Collaborate with business and IT partner teams to develop business capability and technology roadmaps, staying abreast of emerging strategic capabilities and data availabilities.

  • Conduct project management including schedule and resourcing for the department.

  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Skill requirements:

  • (1) Coordinating with Product Owners and vendor teams to understand data needs and create deliverables by following Agile Principles.

  • (2) Migrating data from various sources including Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, and Salesforce using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks onto Snowflake.

  • (3) Building new pipelines using SnowSQL and scheduling and monitoring jobs using Azure Data Factory.

  • (4) Writing SQL stored Procedures, Functions, and Triggers to implement the business logics for databases on the Snowflake data warehouse.

  • (5) Conducting enhancement and maintenance of the data warehouse including Snowflake views/tables and optimizing performance by utilizing temporary/transient tables.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer and Information Science or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

Candidate’s pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
