The Manager, Product & Engineering is responsible for driving the design, product and technical build, support and maintenance of multiple products/platforms, as well as the supporting technology capabilities and infrastructure that support that product in an Agile driven environment. Most often leading teams of 5 - 10 FTE, and may lead teams of onshore and offshore contracting companies. Direct reporting line may include team(s) of Product Manager(s), Product Owner(s), technical and solution architecture, DevOps management, UI / UX, Test, as well as full stack Software Development.
The Manager, Product & Engineering is also responsible for attracting, hiring, retaining a successful, full stack, team of Product Managers, Software Developers, architects, other members of technical staff to support products and platforms. This role is also directly accountable for developing strong and positive relationships outside your direct teams with Customer or Customer representative teams, partner organizations, dependent engineering teams, and supporting vendors.

Job Responsibilities:
- Effectively leads product and engineering team to achieve results by providing appropriate direction, timely developmental feedback and mentor, and conducting performance evaluations and conversations. Monitors and measures work tasks to ensure deliverables are provided on time and within budget.
- Leads both technical relationships with assigned vendors, including driving features and function requests for inclusion in future product releases.
- Drives continuous development practice improvements across technical fields (e.g. team structure, roles, processes, tooling, security & compliance).
- Drives continuous agile maturity across scrum teams measured by KPI quarter over quarter. Should be familiar with Jira gadgets that provide insights on how teams are performing.
- Handles budget closely by ensuring the team labor expense stays within expected CAPEX/OPEX budget every quarter.
- Provide quarterly report of value delivered.
- Provide oversight and carefully review and approve change requests to production using enterprise tools and processes, while avoiding outages for the business.
- Define and drive the vision of a product or platform through collaboration with the business and other product managers.
- Interviews and hires qualified team members, striving to improve T-Mobile bench strength and augmenting product or project teams with contract staff when required.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent experience. (Required)
Work Experience:
- 4-7 years Product Management experience in an agile software product development environment. (Required)
- 4-7 years DevSecOps or DevOps Management experience. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to build and rebuild trust with new teams. Familiar with leadership courses/training such as Speed of Trust (by Franklyn Covey) and Servant Leadership.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Agile Methodologies Knowledge in software with Agile Scrum methodologies and other commonly used tools. (Required)
- Ability to understand Jira gadgets, deduce common pitfalls, and drive agile maturity improvement using the gadgets/KPI.
- Proven ability to drive efficiency through DevOps practices and tools.
- Technical Writing Strong requirements elicitation, and proven writing skills including the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences. (Required)
- Agile Knowledge of the overall execution relating to all aspects of an agile development team, from defining the strategy and architecture through deployment and support. (Required)
- Agile Project Management Experience with Agile backlog/project management tools. (Required)
- Technology Experience in delivering large and complex business/technology initiatives. (Required)
- Communication Proven ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with Leadership, while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence. (Required)
- Collaboration Experience with successive elaboration and ability to develop Initiatives, Features and User Stories that the DevOps teams can ingest. (Required)
- Business Analysis Strong analytical skills with ability to identify/analyze/ synthesize product use data. (Required)
Licenses and Certifications:
- SAFe Agilist (Preferred)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFE Scrum Master (Preferred)
- Scrum Product Owner Certification (CSPO) or SAFE PO/PM Certified (Preferred)
- Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or SAFe Program Consultant (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $134,300 - $242,200Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
