Reporting and Decision Support Manager

T-Mobile’s Accounts Payable Department is looking for an individual who is ready to join a high-performing team in a dynamic work environment. Reporting to the Manager, Reporting and Decision Support, this role will execute on the department analytical strategy and goals. Primary responsibilities will include presenting data-driven insights and recommendations as well as trending and forecasting to leadership for decision making and strategic planning. This person will lead cross-functional meetings and present findings to the leadership team. Responsibilities include guiding the reporting portfolio for the Accounts Payable team.

Success in this role will require frequent cross-functional collaboration with individuals at all levels of the organization.  The Reporting and Decision Support Manager will excel in the areas of data and visualization, statistics, financial analysis, and reporting.  Individuals will provide valuable insights from the data to leadership and partners.  The Reporting and Decision Support Manager will understand the business processes and finance drivers that influence their analysis.

This role will sit under the Finance, Procurement & Supply Chain (FP&SC) Magenta Services group and will be part of a Shared Services Organization. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce trending and forecasting of payables and other key indicators. Identify and communicate key insights to leadership team based on analysis and provide recommendation.   
  • Assesses the reporting needs of the business, prioritize projects and drive requirements to completion.  
  • Work cross-functionally as needed to enable data architecture and solutions that best meet the analytics and reporting needs of the business.  
  • Work cross functionally to proactively and systematically identify and implement any enhancements to reporting and analytics processes. 
  • May assume project/initiative responsibility. 
  • Complete complex ad-hoc research, analysis, and reporting. Serves as a subject-matter expert on the team.  
  • Use modern visualization tools such as Tableau to enhance business understanding through artistic, simple, and concise data story telling.    
  • Use statistical and other quantitative modeling techniques to analyze large data sets, identify business opportunities and quantify risks. Supports advanced analytics including prescriptive and predictive analyses. 
  • Become a SME on the underlying data required for business intelligence within the A/P team. 
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed. 

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Business, Finance, Economics, Information Management or related field (Required)
  • Master's degree preferred - Economics or Business (Preferred)

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in analytics and reporting   (Required)
  • 2+ years’ experience working with Tableau & SSRS, building interactive reports, complex dashboards for different audiences, creating calculated KPIs or metrics by writing complex formulas. Ability to analyze and tune Tableau reports by leveraging either Tableau features or database level tuning / optimization.  (Required)
  • Able to write complex SQL using a variety of User Interfaces (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, SSRS, Tableau) and a proven ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.  (Required)
  • Ability to perform data investigation (e.g., data source identification, feasibility of joins, determine data reasonableness based on business insights).  (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform successful forecasting techniques  (Required)
  • Expert level expertise in MS Excel, with proficiency using formulas, pivot tables, linked worksheets, and charts  (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage competing priorities & deliverables in a fast-paced, dead-line oriented environment  (Required)
  • Strong ability to think creatively and develop new solutions  (Required)
  • Able to build strong cross-functional relationships  (Required)
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming Languages (e.g. Python)  (Preferred)
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing and associated concepts (OLAP, ETL, Dimensional model, ability to write script/tools for automation) (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of advanced Excel techniques (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, graphing, data connections, automation using macros and VBA, modeling skills and applied business statistics).(Preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable (Preferred)
  • Experience with GAAP and IFRS accounting best practices (Preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in SAP or Oracle  (Preferred)
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming Languages (e.g. Python) (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $81,200 - $146,600

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
