Senior Solutions Engineer – Federal DoD Sales

The Sr. Solutions Engineer – Federal DoD Sales supports the T-Mobile Secure Federal Operations (TSFO) Government Sales organization by serving as a trusted technical advisor and strategic partner to both customers and internal sales teams. This role combines deep technical expertise, industry knowledge, and customer engagement skills to design, position, and articulate innovative solutions supporting U.S. Federal Government, Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and Homeland Security customers.The Sr. Solutions Engineer engages in pre-sales consulting activities to understand customer business objectives, identify operational and technical challenges, and develop solutions that align with mission requirements and strategic outcomes. This role works closely with Solution Architects, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Partner teams to deliver differentiated solutions and support revenue growth within the Federal Government market.
Please note: this is not a traditional Network Engineering role. This position is focused on customer solutions, technical sales support, systems design, and solution architecture rather than hands-on network infrastructure deployment, administration, or operational support.
This is a hybrid position required to be working in-office at least 3 days a week.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical pre-sales, mid-sales, and post-sales support to business unit opportunities, resolving customer concerns and leading issue resolution
- Manage technical escalations by delivering engineering support and troubleshooting for Tier 3 and Tier 4 customer impacting issues
- Collaborate with marketing and engineering teams to support customer trials, network development, and new product rollouts
- Contribute feedback to improve incident documentation, resolution processes, and operational procedures
- Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of related work experience
OR a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required) - Acceptable areas of study include IT, Telecom, Information Systems, Engineering or related field (Preferred)
- 7 years advanced knowledge/experience in H/W, S/W and system certification, testing, methods and procedures. (Preferred)
- 7 years providing strategic design and process direction in a leadership or individual role, working with Cloud Ecosystem partners (system integrators, HW/SW OEMs, platforms, etc.) (Preferred)
- 4 years Telecommunications experience, engineering or sales engineering experience.
Experience working with Cloud products, services and applications
Working knowledge on Cloud Strategy, standards (3GPP), protocols. (Preferred)

Requirements:

Active US security clearance or ability to obtain one
