The Payment Assurance job family within Magenta Service Center is responsible for developing, deploying, documenting, and managing risk & controls within customer billing and retail arena.
The Sr. Analyst, Finance will have a strong foundation in payments and a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset. Candidate should have extensive experience handling large volumes of data through multiple sources. Deep understanding of the transactional flow through the various operational systems to monitor and ensure accurate financial results. Solid understanding of ERP system including sub-modules. This position will be responsible for monthly reconciliation quality audit and quarterly auditor interactions for various reconciliations. Ensure the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data. With a solid understanding of the systems and flow of funds, actively participate in the analysis of complex transactions, the launch of new products or business lines, and the acquisition of other entities. Participate in periodic audits and SOX control monitoring and testing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for payment system reconciliations and variance analysis in accordance with US GAAP, SOX, as well as internal policies and procedures.

  • Design operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.

  • Participate in the creation of functional / non-functional specification documentation in close partnership with IT and project teams.

  • Define testing and review interface testing between various applications. Work with project managers to resolve functional issues arising from user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Makes decisions and provides subject matter expertise in customer payments and related systems.

  • Apply a growth mindset approach to continuous improvement in personal, project, and organizational development.

  • Work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Understand business drivers and their effect on financial results to ensure business changes are accurately reflected in the financial processes and analysis.

  • Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation and ensure a robust internal control environment exists and is operating effectively.

Education Level:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience required.

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or IT preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • Strong communication skills with high articulation ability

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

  • Intermediate SQL Knowledge

  • Power BI solutions

Preferred:

  • SAP/ Oracle experience

  • Oracle ACRS Experience

  • Intermediate Alteryx

Licenses and Certifications:  preferred

  • Certified Management Accountant

  • Alteryx Designer Core Certification

  • COSO Enterprise Risk Management Certificate

  • Sarbanes-Oxley Trained Professional

Work Experience: 

  • 4- 7 yrs. professional experience in a large corporate environment in finance, accounting, risk management, business analytics, or similar. 

  • Experience with SOX controls framework and the 3 lines of defense.

  • Financial reconciliation of various accounts and subsystems.

  • At least 18 years of age
